Topic: “An Overview of the Veterans Center of North Texas”
The March program will be presented by Paul Hendricks, a retired Air Force Officer. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Hendricks joined the Rockwell International and Boeing companies. He served as a Program Manager for numerous defense programs and retired from industry in 2011.
Mr. Hendricks is a community leader and is involved with local and state government initiatives. He is an officer in his church and holds leadership positions in the Air Force Association, the Military Officers Association of America and Rotary International. He is also actively engaged with State and National elected officials with the goal to ensure active and retired military members are recognized and afforded their earned benefits. Hendricks is also a leader in the Town of Fairview where he served on the Fairview Planning and Zoning Commission for 9 years and is currently serving as a Fairview Councilman. Additionally, he is an Ambassador for the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce.
Hendricks co-founded and manages the Veterans Center of North Texas. Established in 2014, the volunteer non-profit organization assists Veterans and their families to locate the benefits and resources to become productive citizens within their communities.
Hendricks and his wife of 49 years live in Fairview, Texas. They have two adult children and four grandchildren.
The March program will be sponsored by Dallas Metro North TBW President, Kathi Turner. Turner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Mentor Coach in Plano, Texas. Specializing in parenting, family dynamics, life transitions. Turner coaches individuals in transition due to unplanned life challenges, changing roles in career or family, or finding clarity in current circumstances such as:
Unplanned Pregnancy: creating strategies for life after pregnancy whether placing for adoption or parenting.
Adoption: helping prospective parents to understand and chart their research and choices, identifying their own needs and beliefs;
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: supporting self-care and balance with this major life transition, identifying grief and loss or fear-based behaviors and thinking, parenting strategies, facilitating GP’s research for support services.
Guests should plan to arrive by 6:30pm while members should plan to arrive by 6:00pm for the business meeting.
