Never Too Early/Never Too Late to Save for Retirement

Topic: Money Matters

At our March meeting, David Lockey will present saving for retirement. David has been a Financial Advisor for 15 years dedicated to providing sound financial and investment advice to hard-working families. He prides himself on helping his clients understand what they’re investing for and helps them keep a disciplined approach to financial planning and investing.

David began his career in Boston, MA with UBS PaineWebber. In 2004, he and his wife moved from Boston to Dallas while he was growing his practice with H&R Block Financial Advisors. In 2012, David decided to start Lockey Wealth Management because he wanted the independence to run his practice without the inherent biases of a large firm. In 2014, he transitioned his independent practice into an investment advisory model that operates under a fee-only fiduciary basis. David operates as a representative of Fusion Capital Management, a SEC Registered Investment Advisor.

Acting as a fiduciary, David is legally bound to provide clients with advice that is solely based on the best interest of the client. Working under a fee-only model takes away the inherent conflict of interest often found in a commission driven model used by typical brokerage firms.

David built his practice around working with business owners and executives and specializes in retirement planning. He also focuses on working with women investors. Many of his female clients praised him in his level of care, integrity, and focus on what’s important to them. He also takes time making sure clients understand the investment strategies they employ and that they are comfortable with them.

David has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where he played football for the Crusaders for 4 years. David and his wife have 2 sons (5 and 7) and a daughter (3). They live in Carrollton and he is active in youth sports: coaching soccer, football, basketball and baseball throughout the year. He also volunteers on the Finance Committee for Prince of Peace Catholic School in Plano, where his children attend. David and his family are active in the Prince of Peace community.
